Dear Year 6 Parent/Carer

Open Evening: Wood Green Academy

Wednesday 27th September 2023 5.00pm -7.00pm

I am writing to invite you to our Open Evening on Wednesday 27th September 2023. The school will be open to parents from 5.00pm where there will be guides available to show you around the school if you wish or you are more than welcome to visit departments at your leisure. The evening will give you an ideal opportunity to see what Wood Green Academy has to offer your child in terms of their secondary education. There will be active displays, involving our present pupils, in all curriculum areas and subject staff will be on hand to answer any questions that you may have. There will also be an opportunity to see the wide variety of extra-curricular activities available. Staff from the Special Educational Needs Department, who will be based in the Hughes Block, will also be on hand for advice and guidance.

I will give a presentation about the school at two time slots the first at 5.30pm and the second at 6.30pm. This will take place in the Redgrave Hall. Please note that if you intend to attend the last talk it is important that you take the opportunity to visit departments prior to the talk, as the evening concludes at 7.00pm.

In order to ensure comfort and enough seating in the Hall for you we would like you to book into the presentation that you intend to attend. The talk is not obligatory and if you have children already at the school you may just wish to visit the departments.

If I could ask that you click Register and opt into whatever you prefer. These are the options available to you:

Option 1 - 5.30pm presentation and a tour of the school to follow

Option 2 – 6.30pm presentation with tour of the school prior to the presentation

Option 3 – tour of the school without the presentation

Please note that if you intend to walk to Wood Green on the evening you will be asked to enter the school through the Wood Green Road entrance. If you intend to drive, although there is limited car parking, you will be asked to enter the school through the St. Paul’s Road entrance.
